Liz Cambage to replace injured Candace Parker in All-Star Game

Tulsa Shock rookie center Liz Cambage will take the roster spot of injured Los Angeles Sparks center Candace Parker on the Western Conference roster of the 2011 WNBA All-Star Game the league announced today. Parker was voted to the game as a starter by fans but suffered a knee injury in late June and will not play again until August.

Cambage ranks second among Shock players in scoring (13.6 ppg) and rebounds (5.3 rpg). Among all rookies, she ranks first in rebounding and blocks (1.2 bpg), and third in scoring and steals (1.3 spg).

The 2011 WNBA All-Star Game is set for broadcast on ABC, Saturday, July 23, at 3:30 p.m. ET. As coach of the West squad, Seattle Storm coach Agler will select a player from his roster to insert into the starting lineup in place of Parker.
