The WNBA’s 2011 number one draft pick and All-Star Maya Moore is set to host a shopping spree with a young fan at the end of the season in her hometown of Atlanta. Children ages six to 14 can enter the Shot Clock Shopping Spree between August 24 and October 13 online at NBAHoopTroop.com when they sign up to be an NBA Hoop Troop member.

Moore, in the running for Rookie of the Year, will celebrate with one grand-prize winner in the nationwide Shot Clock Shopping Spree contest. The winner will travel to Atlanta to participate in a basketball-themed shopping spree. The randomly selected contestant will team up with the All-Star to learn shooting tips from the her and win as much basketball merchandise as they can shoot together into an oversized basketball hoop in 24 seconds.

The Lynx are currently in the midst of an extraordinary record-breaking season and hold the league’s best record at 21-6, two games up on the Indiana Fever. The Lynx will also honor Moore, a former Conn star, on August 26 with a bobblehead night when the team plays San Antonio.

Moore earned WNBA Rookie of the Month honors for her play during the month of July, leading all rookies in scoring (13.0 ppg) and steals (1.6 spg) while ranking second among first-year players in rebounding (4.4 rpg) and assists (3.6 apg) for the month. Moore was also voted by the fans to start in the WNBA All-Star game, becoming the first rookie to start since Sue Bird and Tamika Catchings in 2002. She was the first Lynx player in franchise history to be voted into the starting lineup.

NBA Hoop Troop launched in December 2010 as an online destination for basketball programming, grassroots events, and its Shot Clock Shopping Spree sweepstakes.
