Seeds announced for Big 12 Championship

The Big 12 Championship trophy.

As expected, Baylor is the No. 1 seed in the 2012 Big 12 women’s basketball championship. The tournament begins Wednesday, March 7. The Lady Bears finished the regular season with a program-best 31-0 record including 18 Big 12 victories. They are the third Big 12 women’s team to go undefeated in conference play.

Big 12 Conference Note: Iowa State won the tiebreaker for the No. 4 seed after sweeping Kansas State in the regular season. The tiebreaker procedure was also necessary to determine seeds among Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas. In a comparison of collective head-to-head records among those three teams, Kansas was 3-1, followed by Oklahoma State at 2-2 and Texas at 1-3.
