NCAA women’s basketball attendance set an all-time high during the 2011-12 season. According to the NCAA, attendance for all three divisions was 11,210,832. The record broke the previous mark of 11,160,293 set in 2008-09. Overall, attendance was over 11 million for the fifth year in a row.
For the ninth consecutive year and 15th time in the last 16 seasons, Tennessee led all schools in attendance with 14,414 per game. Fans flocked to see the Lady Vols during Pat Summitt’s final year as head coach.

Six teams had attendance above the 200,000 mark: Notre Dame, Iowa State, Louisville, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Purdue.
The Big 12 Conference led all leagues in overall (959,993) and per game attendance. The Big 12 record for overall attendance is 1,091,289 set in in 2009-10.
