Baylor’s Brittney Griner has two ESPY award nominations this year while Lady Bear coach Kim Mulkey has one.  ESPN’s annual awards extravaganza takes place in Los Angeles, Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 9 p.m. ET.  Former Daily Show correspondent Rob Riggle will host the awards.

Griner received nominations for “Best Female Athlete” and “Best Female College Athlete” while her coach is nominated for “Best Coach/Manager”. Other categories that include women’s basketball players include “Best WNBA Player” and “Best Female Athlete with a Disability.” Fans can vote for their picks online at ESPN.com/ESPYS.

Former Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. The award is for individuals  whose contributions go beyond sports.
