Forward Sophia Young signed a multi-year contract extension with the San Antonio Silver Stars. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“We are so pleased to announce that Sophia Young will continue to bring her outstanding play to the Silver Stars into the future,” said head coach and general manager Dan Hughes. “Her play and leadership this year has been an example of what Sophia has brought us game in and game out for the past seven years and we are so glad to go into the future with Sophia in the Silver & Black.”

A three-time WNBA All-Star (2006, 2007 and 2009), Young was originally selected by the Silver Stars with the fourth overall pick in the 2006 Draft out of Baylor University. She helped lead the Lady Bears to the 2005 NCAA championship.
