Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve responded to criticism of her behavior in game two when she threw her jacket off and received a technical after getting angry at officials for not calling a foul when Fever guard Brian January and Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen had contact as Whalen drove to the basket. Indiana Fever coach Lin Dunn said Reeve’s actions were disrespectful and warranted an ejection.

“I guess what comes to mind first and foremost is that I don’t give a hoot what Lin Dunn thinks about me or my players,” said Reeve. “We don’t answer to her. What’s interesting to me it seems like it might be the pot calling the kettle black. That’s what it seems like to me because it’s known throughout the league how Indiana likes to play, and we simply decided after game one that if this series is going to be physical then we gotta join the party and the end result was a game two where we engaged in being more physical.”

Whalen and Dunn also received technicals. The league fined all three.

Dunn’s take on game three:

“I’m expecting it to be [just as physical]. They’re a very physical team, but so are we. We like to play physical. They like to play physical. It’s all a matter of how the officials are going to call it. If they’re going to let it be a war and a football game then it will be, if they’re going to clean it up and let it be basketball game, it will be. It’s all up to them.”
