The roundtable discussions on Dishin & Swishin have been some of the most fun to do, and definitely are the most listened to among the podcasts. With the NCAA season ready to officially begin tomorrow, November 9, it is a good time to bring back some friends of the podcast and add one more to the group, as we discuss the NCAA season.

The roundtable participants this week are:

  • AP women’s basketball senior writer, Doug Feinberg
  • Television commentator, LaChina Robinson
  • espnW writer, Michelle Smith
  • Coach and commentator, Christy Winters Scott
  • Television commentator Brooke Weisbrod makes her roundtable debut

This is shaping up to be a tremendously interesting season. While it is easy to say it could be a two-team race for the championship, intrigue still exists even at the top, as we watch to see if Baylor can repeat, can they go undefeated a second straight year, and if UConn is as good as Geno Auriemma says they are.

Even so, there are numerous teams and players worthy of attention. Teams from all different conferences will play some great basketball. Perennial contenders such as Duke, Notre Dame and Stanford will face challenges from tough contenders including Kentucky, Louisivlle, Maryland and Penn State. All-American talent and exciting players are at places like Delaware, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, and Cal.

Many schools have new coaches, including Tennessee with Holly Warlick, Michigan with Kim Barnes-Arico and Auburn with Terri Williams-Flournoy. Some conferences have a new look, with Texas A&M, West Virginia, TCU and Missouri among the relocated teams.

Topics discussed, debated and analyzed by the roundtable include:

  • The big stars and the big teams, and what makes them great
  • Unheralded impact players you need to know about
  • Breakdown of all the major conferences and a look at the top mid-majors
  • Injuries and illnesses, the great equalizer
  • Baylor versus Connecticut, is it meant to be the Finals in New Orleans, and if so what will happen

So get some coffee, hot chocolate or tea, since it’s getting cold out there, and let the Dishin & Swishin roundtable entertain and enlighten you on the NCAA women’s basketball season.

Enjoy!
