New York Liberty trade rights to forward Quanitra Hollingsworth to Washington for 2013 third round pick

From the Liberty:

New York Liberty Head Coach and General Manager Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has acquired a 2013 third round pick (25th overall) from the Washington Mystics in exchange for the rights to forward Quanitra Hollingsworth. The 2013 WNBA Draft will air live Monday, April 15 at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

New York now has five picks in the 2013 WNBA Draft, more than any other team and the most for the team since 2003. The Liberty hold two first round selections at fifth and seventh overall, one in the second round at 15th and two in the third round at 25th and 27th.

Hollingsworth, a three-year veteran of the WNBA, spent her first two seasons with the Minnesota Lynx and one year with the Liberty in 2011. She averaged 3.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game during the regular season, and 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in one career playoff series with New York. Hollingsworth has not played in the WNBA since 2011, playing overseas in Hungary and Russia the past two years. In 2012, she was granted Turkish citizenship and joined the Turkish National Team for the London Olympics.

The Liberty 2013 regular season home opener is on May 31 against the Tulsa Shock at Prudential Center.
