Diana Taurasi receives one-game suspension after receiving 7th technical foul of season

Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi will not be with her team this afternoon in Minnesota when they face the Western Conference leading Minnesota Lynx. She received her seventh technical in the Mercury’s 82-77 loss to the Lynx on Sunday in Phoenix. Under league rules a player or coach receives an automatic suspension without pay for a game after accumulating seven technical fouls during the regular season. For each additional two technical fouls, the player or coach receives an automatic suspension for a game.

Brittney Griner (left knee sprain) and Penny Taylor (rest) did not travel with the team. Projected starters for the Mercury include Chardé Houston, DeWanna Bonner, Candice Dupree, Briana Gilbreath and Alexis Hornbuckle.
