Video: UConn players discuss the new season, the world championship and new roles

Defending national champion Connecticut began their quest for a three-peat this week. Sophomore Saniya Chong, junior Moriah Jefferson, freshman Kia Nurse, senior Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and junior Breanna Stewart discuss several topics during the first week of practice for the 2014-15 season.

Second-year player Saniya Chong discusses the difference between being a sophomore and a freshman. She also discusses the upcoming season.


Junior Moriah Jefferson talks about taking more of a leadership role for UConn, improvements in her game over the summer and seeing championship banners raised.

Freshman Kia Nurse discusses playing in the World Championships for Canada, her brother making the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL and her expectations for her first year at UConn.


Senior Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis discusses the upcoming season.


Breanna Stewart discusses her summer with USA Basketball and the upcoming season.
