Connecticut Sun to host 2015 WNBA Draft and All-Star Game

The Connecticut Sun is set to host the 2015 WNBA draft on Thursday, April 16 and the league’s All-Star game on July 25.

Draft Details

ESPN2 will provide coverage and analysis of the first round of the draft beginning at 7 p.m. ET. ESPN3 will air the second and third rounds beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The Seattle Storm holds the top pick in the draft for the third time in franchise history after winning this year’s draft lottery. The other top five picks are the Tulsa Shock (second), Seattle (third, from the Connecticut Sun), Connecticut (fourth, from the New York Liberty) and the Chicago Sky (fifth).

Mohegan Sun Arena also hosted the WNBA Draft in 2014.

All-Star Game Details

July’s All-Star game will be nationally televised by ABC at 3:30 p.m. ET. It will be the fourth time the WNBA’s midseason showcase will be played in Connecticut, which hosted in 2005, 2009 and 2013. New York is the only other host of as many as three All-Star Games.

Boost Mobile, which became the WNBA’s first league-wide marquee partner in 2011, will serve as the title partner of the All-Star Game for the third consecutive year.
