AP Poll – Feb. 29, 2016: Colorado State moves up, Oklahoma State and Missouri drop out

Stanford women’s basketball won the 1000th game in program history on Friday with a victory over Oregon State.

Notes

  • There were no changes in the top four with UConn remaining in the top spot followed by Notre Dame, South Carolina and Baylor. The Huskies defeated Tulane on Saturday after honoring the team’s seniors. UConn also honored associated head coach Chris Dailey.
  • No. 5 Maryland advanced one place and No. 6 Texas moved up two spots. Louisville also improved jumping three spots to No. 7.
  • No. 8 Oregon State fell one place after falling at Stanford on Friday. However, the Beavers redeemed themselves with a victory at California on Sunday. The win secured a share of the regular season Pac-12 title for Oregon State.
  • Stanford improved two places and landed at No. 11. The Cardinal defeated Oregon State and Oregon over the weekend. The win over the Beavers on Friday gave the program its 1000th victory since the inception of varsity women’s basketball in 1975 at the school.
  • Arizona State fell one spot to No. 10 after losing to UCLA on Sunday. However, the Sun Devils share the Pac-12 title with Oregon State. No. 12 UCLA improved its lot by moving up two spots after the wins over Arizona and ASU over the weekend.
  • No. 9 Ohio State fell four spots after a week of two losses: first to Minnesota then a triple-overtime defeat at the hands of Michigan State.
  • Texas A&M also fell four spots to No. 15. The Aggies lost to Kentucky last week.
  • No. 21 Miami had a hard week as well with losses to Louisville and Florida State. The Hurricanes dropped four places.
  • No. 22 Colorado State survived its first week in the top 25 this season, moving up three spots landing in a tie with West Virginia at No. 22.
  • Florida re-entered the poll at No. 25 after a week of victories over LSU and Auburn.
