Dallas Wings finalizes roster for tipoff of 2016 regular season
Dallas Wings general manager Greg Bibb and head coach Fred Williams finalized the team’s roster for the 2016 regular season. The team begins play Saturday, May 14 in Indiana against the Fever at 6:00 pm ET.
The roster features 10 veteran players, including 2014 WNBA Most Improved Player, Skylar Diggins and hometown star Odyssey Sims, along with Plenette Pierson, Erin Phillips, Karima Christmas and Courtney Paris.
“I like the 12 players that we have selected for the season,” said Williams. “This roster has a lot of size and depth to execute our goal for the season, which is to compete towards the playoffs and a championship. We had a successful off season by bringing in Erin Phillips. Our draft selections were exactly what we were aiming for with the talent of Aerial Powers, and the size and strength of Ruth Hamblin. It’s was good to see Skylar and Odyssey working out hard at training camp, and with Courtney Paris and Karima Christmas back from overseas, we know that our roster is now complete.”
