Dallas Wings forward Evelyn Akhator named to the Nigerian National Team, will miss games to compete in Afrobasket

Dallas Wings forward Evelyn Akhator has been named to the Nigerian National Team and will train and compete with the side during several dates in July and August. The national team is preparing to compete in the upcoming AfroBasket Tournament.

Akhator will join the team July 26-29 to participate in a training camp. She will then compete in Afrobasket from August 16 to August 28. Following the team’s completion at the tournament, the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft will return to Arlington and join her fellow Dallas Wings teammates for the conclusion of the 2017 season.

The Dallas Wings return to action after the All-Star break, as they host the Indiana Fever at College Park Center on July 25.
