WNBA Tulsa Marketing Video

Two days before All-Star game festivities begin in Connecticut, WNBA president Donna Orender heads to Tulsa to meet with investors interested in bringing a team to the Oklahoma city.

Marketing efforts  include a new Twitter account, http://twitter.com/wnbatulsa and a video.

Two of the investors, Oklahoma City businessmen Bill Cameron and David Box, will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon to discuss plans to bring the league to the state’s second largest city. Orender will meet with community leaders and BOK Center premium seat ticket holders in a private reception on Wednesday night. The BOK (Bank of Oklahoma) center is a recently completed state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue.

Cameron and Box are members of the ownership group of the Tulsa Talons, an Arena Football League minor league team. Cameron also is part of the ownership group that bought the Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm in July 2006. They moved the former Supersonics, now the Oklahoma City Thunder, to the state’s capital city and sold the WNBA franchise to Seattle investors.
