Missouri and Oklahoma players earn Big 12 honors for first week of conference play

For the first week of conference play in the Big 12 RaeShara Brown and Aaryn Ellenberg were named Players of the Week by a media voting panel for games from January 3-9.

It was the first honor for Brown while Ellenberg was recognized for the second time this season.

From the Big 12:

RaeShara Brown scored a career high 27 points along with six rebounds and five assists in Missouri’s 85-80 overtime victory over No. 22/24 Texas. Against No. 9 Xavier, she scored a team high 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and handed out a game high seven assists. For the week Brown averaged 21.0 ppg, 6.0 apg, 5.5 rpg and 2.5 spg.

Aaryn Ellenberg totaled a game-high 19 points and team-leading six rebounds in Oklahoma’s 70-50 win at Nebraska last Saturday. With a 14-11 lead in the first half, Ellenberg scored 12 of OU’s next 15 points, including 10 straight, in a five-minute span to push the lead to 29-18. She is also third among the league’s players in free throw percentage (.895) and in 3-point field goal percentage (.464).
