Shekinna Stricklen

Seattle selected Tennessee’s Shekinna Stricklen as the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. The combo guard/forward from Morrilton, Arkansas was a Wooden Award and Wade Trophy finalist as well as an All-SEC First Team pick. She was also the league’s No. 2 scorer and a top 10 finisher in rebounds and three-point field goal percentage

Devereaux Peters

The reigning WNBA champions, the Minnesota Lynx chose Notre Dame’s Devereaux Peters in the first round of the draft at No. 3. Known for her defensive prowess, the 6-2 forward from Chicago helped take Notre Dame to two straight NCAA Finals. The Wade Trophy finalist was the Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2011-12.

LaSondra Barrett

Louisiana State’s star forward LaSondra Barrett went to the Washington Mystics as the No. 10 pick in the draft. The Jackson, Miss. native was a Wade Trophy finalist, All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Tournament Team pick after playing all five spots and ranking among the SEC’s top seven in field goal percentage and rebounds. She graduated in December 2011 after earning numerous SEC Academic honors.
