Anyone that has ever been in a Doug Bruno press conference knows the format: ask a question and then let Bruno go. There are few coaches that are both insightful and entertaining the way Bruno can be. Tonight, after his team’s victory over Marquette in the Big East tournament, Bruno was at his best

First, Bruno discussed his team’s victory and why beating Marquette is always important for DePaul

Then, it was on to a discussion of the return to health of star guard Anna Martin. Martin missed considerable time with a knee injury during the season, and is only now beginning to round into form. She had a terrific game against Marquette

Finally, a two-part question was asked by Hoopfeed. Did Bruno feel that a win in this game was necessary to cement a trip to the NCAA tournament, and as a follow up, how excited was he to prepare and play Connecticut and good friend Geno Auriemma, knowing last time Martin did not play, and the weather forced his team to arrive 90 minutes before game time.

DePaul will take on Connecticut Sunday at 6 p.m. ET in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament
