Last year the WNBA offered its LiveAccess1 streaming service for a fee for the first time since service launched in 2009. According to the league LiveAccess “provides access to close to 200 live game webcasts and archived games for on-demand viewing.”

In 2012 at $4.99, LiveAccess enabled fans to watch nearly every game live via their computer or the WNBA’s Center Court app. Games broadcast on ESPN were excluded from the service. Features of LiveAcess included a live box score, pause and rewind, video quality options, the ability to watch up to four games at once in quadview, picture-in-picture and game archives on demand.

Today the league announced new pricing for LiveAccess. It costs $14.99 with a $2.00 discount for those who subscribed last year. The league is offering a free trial up to May 26. There is one game on Friday, May 24 (Indiana at San Antonio, the season opener) and two games on Saturday, May 25 (New York at Connecticut and Tulsa at Atlanta). After the free trial fans will be billed for the service.

The season opener will be broadcast locally on Fox Sports Southwest. The TV broadcast of Tulsa at Atlanta will be provided by SPSO (SportSouth).
