The Minnesota Lynx announced that their Friday, August 16 game against the Tulsa Shock will be “Rebekkah Brunson Bobblehead Night.” The first 2,500 fans to enter Target Center will receive an exclusive Rebekkah Brunson bobblehead, the first of Brunson’s career.

Playing in her fourth season with the Lynx, Brunson became the franchise rebounding leader earlier this season, entering Friday’s game with 1,085 rebounds in a Lynx uniform. This year Brunson has recorded a team-high eight double-doubles, including posting her seventh career 20-point/10-rebound game against Washington earlier this year. Heading into Friday, Brunson is averaging 10.6 points on 48.8% shooting, 9.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. She ranks T-4th in the WNBA in rebounding, 12th in field goal percentage, 12th in blocks and 10th in steals this season.

Friday’s game against the Shock marks the start of a brief two-game homestand for Minnesota, which also faces off with the New York Liberty for the first time this season on Sunday. The Lynx currently ranks as the league’s best offense, ranking first in the WNBA in points per game (83.6), assists (20.3 apg) and point differential (+8.5) while ranking second in field goal percentage (.466). Minnesota currently holds a 1.0 game lead on the Los Angeles Sparks for both the best record in the Western Conference and the best record in the WNBA.
