A Special Dishin & Swishin Championship Game Podcast: Lisa Leslie on UConn, Notre Dame and more

[display_podcast] There is no denying that Lisa Leslie is one of the greatest players in women’s basketball history. Her playing career included earning numerous awards, WNBA championships plus gold medals. But the fact she never made it to the Final Four emphasizes how difficult it is to reach the last stage of the NCAA tournament. It also underscores how exceptional it is that two undefeated teams, Connecticut and Notre Dame, are battling for the national championship.

Leslie is having a great time in Nashville, visiting with friends, meeting fans and talking hoops while serving as an advisory board member of the Capital One Cup. The Cup, which awards schools for championships in all sports, is significant because it not only carries the prestige that the school racked up more points than the others, but scholarship money as well. The winner of Tuesday’s championship will earn 60 points, enough to vault UConn into the top spot on the women’s side, or Notre Dame into second place.

Leslie joins Dishin & Swishin for a pre-Finals special podcast. Topics covered include:

  • Notre Dame and UConn and their continued excellence
  • A preview of the championship game, including guards versus posts, who should win
  • Parity in the women’s game, and the role of picking the right college to attend for high school students
  • The Capital One Cup and why its important
  • The wild offseason of the Los Angeles Sparks

Enjoy a special Dishin & Swishin with a legend of the game, and enjoy the championship game!
