2014 WNBA All-Star balloting available on multiple platforms

From the league:

WNBA All-Star Balloting presented by Boost Mobile will launch today at 2 p.m. ET as the most expansive balloting program in the 18-year history of the league.

Fans around the world will have the opportunity to vote daily for their favorite WNBA players on WNBA.com, mobile devices, the WNBA Center Court App, and for the first time via Twitter and Facebook.

WNBA All-Star 2014 will take place at US Airways Center in Phoenix, on Saturday, July 19, and will be nationally televised on ESPN, with tip-off at 3:30 p.m. ET (12:30 p.m. PT).

“Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star is a showcase event and a celebration of the greatest women’s basketball players in the world,” said WNBA President Laurel J. Richie. “Fan engagement is very important to the league and our teams so we are very pleased to introduce a new expansive balloting program for fans to take part in and vote for their favorite players.”

“Boost Mobile is excited to partner with the WNBA on the selection process for the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star Game,” said Steve Gaffney, vice president-Corporate Marketing, Boost Mobile. “We encourage all fans to get out there and cast a vote for their favorite players.”

The 60 players included on the ballot represent all 12 WNBA teams. Voters are asked to select two guards and three frontcourt players (forwards and/or centers) from each conference. A write-in option is also available, allowing fans to choose players not listed on the ballot.

Fans can vote for up to 10 players per day on WNBA.com, mobile devices, and the WNBA Center Court App presented by Boost Mobile, and will be able to share those All-Star picks with friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter, encouraging others to cast their ballots as well. Fans also will be able to cast votes on Facebook and Twitter, voting for one player per day using the designated hashtag #WNBABALLOT.

Balloting will conclude at midnight ET on Wednesday, July 2.

The WNBA will announce the All-Star starters on ESPN2 on Tuesday, July 8, during a nationally televised game featuring the Los Angeles Sparks at the Minnesota Lynx (tip-off at 9 p.m. ET). Reserves will be announced on ESPN2 on Tuesday, July 15, during the game between Los Angeles and the Indiana Fever (tip-off at 8 p.m. ET).
