Dishin & Swishin 09/04/14: Celebrating the career of Lin Dunn…players and coaches in their own words

Lin Dunn is the Southern belle of women’s basketball. Her style, accent, knowledge and willingness to share it, kindness and social activism all combined make her a special person.

She is true champion of women’s basketball, not just WNBA champion with the Indiana Fever in 2012. If you are reading this, you know coach Dunn is a 2014 Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame inductee for an esteemed 44-year career. You know that there is a banner that Indiana Fever fans and players will look up and see whenever they play on their home court.

If you are reading this, you also know she is one of my favorite guests on the weekly Dishin & Swishin podcasts, appearing several times, including last week, when we previewed the Eastern Conference finals that saw her Fever fall to the Chicago Sky in three games.

What you do not know, though, is what her players, her opposing coaches and Fever opposing players, and even broadcasters feel about coach Lin Dunn.

So this week instead of a regular Dishin & Swishin podcast, it is a pleasure to present to you a tribute to Lin Dunn, in their own words.

Thank you coach Dunn for all you have done for women’s basketball, and on a personal note, for being a supporter of Hoopfeed and the Dishin & Swishin podcast.
