Liberty waive Lindsey Harding, guard competing for Belarus in Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament

The New York Liberty waived guard Lindsey Harding today. The nine-year veteran of the WNBA, signed with the Liberty as a free agent on April 18. She appeared in five games with New York, making three starts, while averaging 3.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Harding is currently competing for Belarus in the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in France. The tournament began Monday and concludes June 19.

Belarus advanced from the group stage of the tournament and will face China in the quarterfinals on Friday. Twelve teams are competing in the tournament seeking to obtain one of the last five spots available in the 2016 Rio Games competition.
