Rutgers: Redshirt sophomore Ashli Jeune to miss season due to ACL tear

Redshirt sophomore Ashli Jeune will miss the 2016-17 season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in her left knee during a preseason scrimmage earlier this week. A native of Southampton, New Jersey, Jeune redshirted the 2014-15 season and appeared in 21 games as a redshirt freshman in 2015-16.

In early October, the program announced that second leading scorer, senior guard Tyler Scaife would redshirt the season for undisclosed reasons and that she would spend 2016-17 getting healthy.

The Scarlet Knights open the season at home against the defending Southern Conference champions, Chattanooga on Friday, Nov. 11.
