UConn unanimous No. 1 in Hoopfeed poll, Arizona State and Kansas State enter

After Connecticut toppled Notre Dame last week, voters in the Hoopfeed poll had no doubt as to what team to choose for the top spot in the rankings. The undefeated Huskies are the No. 1 team in the poll for the third straight week. Notre Dame still sits at No. 2 followed by Baylor, Maryland and Mississippi State. In fact, there were no changes among the top 14 teams in the poll.

West Virginia moved up one spot to land at No. 15 in a tie with Colorado. The Buffs moved up two spots and remain unbeaten for the best start in program history at 9-0. Under new head coach JR Payne, Colorado has already surpassed last season’s win total (7-23)

Duke had the biggest leap in the poll, up four places to No. 17. With only one loss so far this season, the Blue Devils have two games left on their non-conference schedule including No. 19 Kentucky. The Wildcats fell to No. 19 in the poll, a drop of four spots after losing at home to Arizona State on Sunday.

ASU was among the newcomers in the poll landing at No. 24. Kansas State also debuted in the poll at No. 25. K-State has only one loss on the season, a home defeat at the hands of UConn on Sunday, Dec. 11. The contest was sold out with 12,528 fans, the largest attendance of any NCAA Division I women’s basketball game this season.

Other teams that received votes in poll (in order of points): Oregon, Oregon State, California, Oklahoma State, Green Bay, Southern California and Utah.
