Former Stanford guard Lili Thompson to transfer to Notre Dame

Entering her senior year, former Stanford guard Lili Thompson decided not to return to the program for the 2016-17 season. In mid-July 2016, the Cardinal announced that Thompson would stay at the school to finish earning her degree but not play. Today she revealed via Twitter that she is transferring to Notre Dame. She will have one more year of eligibility left after this season.

Thompson started every game she played during 2015-16 and was an All Pac-12 team selection for the second season in a row. She was the team’s second leading scorer at 14.7 points per game and led the squad in steals. She earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors three times last season.
