At a little over the midpoint of the season, top-ranked Connecticut continues its historic winning streak to remain the No. 1 team in the nation. With a 100-56 win over Tulane Sunday, the Huskies extended the streak to 93 games and followed up by beating East Carolina on Tuesday for 94 consecutive wins.

South Carolina moved into the No. 4 spot and Mississippi State fell a place to No. 5. The Gamecocks and the Bulldogs met Monday night in a competitive matchup that South Carolina won 64-61.

The game was the first loss of the season for Mississippi State. The conference showdown gave South Carolina sole possession of first place in the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs still remain in second place in the SEC.

Stanford remained at No. 10 with a successful week of home sweeps of the Pac-12’s Arizona schools. The Cardinal defeated Arizona on Friday night and took down No. 16 Arizona State Sunday afternoon.

Duke moved up three spots to No. 14 after a week of wins over Virginia Tech and Boston College. North Carolina State also climbed up, landing at No. 18. The Wolfpack only had one game last week, a 65-53 win over Clemson.

Green Bay entered the poll at No. 25. With a 17-2 record, the Phoenix are in a familiar place at the top of the Horizon League and enjoy a nine-game win streak.

Other teams that received votes: Syracuse, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Harvard and Temple.

Texas A&M fell out of the top 25. The Aggies lost to Missouri in overtime last Thursday, 78-76.
