San Antonio Stars acquire center Clarissa Dos Santos from the Chicago Sky in exchange for center Astou Ndour

The San Antonio Stars acquired center Clarissa Dos Santos from the Chicago Sky in exchange for center Astou Ndour.

“Clarissa Dos Santos has been the catalyst for the recent success of the Brazilian national team,” said Stars general manager Ruth Riley. “She brings experience and toughness on the block, and will be a great addition to our post rotation.”

Dos Santos was a member of the Brazilian Women’s National Team at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She averaged 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.3 minutes over the last two seasons with the Sky. She is currently playing alongside Stars center Kayla Alexander with Tango Bourges Basket in Bourges, France, where she is averaging 14.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. She was signed by the Sky in 2015.

Ndour represented Spain in the 2016 Olympics in Rio and is currently playing in the Italian League for Passalacqua Spedizioni Ragusa where she is averaging 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
