Brittney Griner out 3 to 4 weeks with ankle sprain and bone bruise


Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner sustained an injury with 8:49 remaining in Friday’s game at Talking Stick Resort Arena against the Minnesota Lynx She did not return to action.

After being evaluated by team physicians and undergoing x-rays and MRIs, Griner was diagnosed with a left knee bone bruise and a right ankle sprain. She is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
She will be evaluated on an ongoing basis.
