Mercury center Brittney Griner returns to action Aug. 12 vs. Seattle


Phoenix Mercury starting center Brittney Griner will return to the team’s lineup tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 12, against the Seattle Storm at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Griner missed the Mercury’s last eight games after suffering a left knee bone bruise and right ankle sprain during a game on Friday, Aug. 14.

She leads the league in scoring and blocks and is averaging a career-high and WNBA-best 22.3 points per game. The Mercury is fifth in the league standings with a 14-12 record.
