This week Baylor moves into the top spot in the Sport Tours International/Hoopfeed poll for the first time. While the Bears downed Oklahoma last week, they also benefited from unranked North Carolina’s stunning defeat of previous No. 1, Notre Dame on Sunday.

The upset pushed other top five teams up a place in the poll while Notre Dame fell to No. 5. UConn came in at No. 2, Louisville scooted up to No. 3 and Oregon rests at No. 4.

Stanford also suffered surprising loss. After falling on the road to this week’s No. 14 Utah, the Cardinal dropped two places to No. 8.

The Utes, who topped both Pac-12 teams from Northern California over the weekend, saw the largest positive movement in the rankings, ascending seven places to No. 14. After taking down California on Friday, Utah handed Stanford its first Pac-12 loss of the season on Sunday with a 75-68 win.

The Iowa Hawkeyes also saw an improvement in their standing, moving up three places to land at No. 12 after taking down Rutgers and Purdue last week.

Gonzaga rose three places to No. 16. The Zags ended the week by beating WCC foes San Francisco and Santa Clara.

Syracuse experienced the biggest fall in the poll, dropping five spots to No. 18. The Orange lost to Georgia Tech on Jan. 20 and followed up with a defeat at home to Miami before recovering on the road to take down Duke.

Arizona State dropped four places in the rankings, descending to No. 20. The Sun Devils went 1-1 against the Pac-12 Los Angeles schools over the weekend falling first to UCLA before surviving USC on Sunday.

No teams dropped out of the poll.

  • Other schools that received votes: Miami, BYU, South Dakota, Missouri, Rice, West Virginia.
