Field of 64 teams for the 2019 DIII Championship revealed

The NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Committee announced the field of 64 teams for the 2019 championship today. The field includes 43 teams that earned automatic qualifications as the winners of their conference tournament. Thomas More College is the lone team in Pool B as the team does not have a conference affiliation and will move to the NAIA at the beginning of the 2019-2020 season. Twenty teams that are not conference champions round out the field in Pool C.

Date and venue details:

  • Sixteen first/second-round sites will be conducted March 1-2.
  • Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites March 8-9.
  • Winners of the four sectional sites will advance to the national semifinals and final March 15-16.
  • All games, except the semifinals/final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions.
  • The semifinals/final will be conducted at Cregger Center on the campus of Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
