Big 12 coaches select Baylor as preseason fave to win conference title, Lauren Cox is Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year

Big 12 coaches tabbed Baylor as the preseason favorite to win the conference’s regular-season title. The Lady Bears top the preseason poll for the ninth time in conference history. Overall, Baylor has won or tied 10 regular-season crowns, including the last nine. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Baylor forward Lauren Cox is the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year.  As the Preseason Freshman of the Year, Texas guard Celeste Taylor headlines the 2019-20 Preseason All-Big 12 Women’s Basketball Team. Baylor guard Te’a Cooper, a graduate transfer from South Carolina, is the league’s Newcomer of the Year.

The 2019-20 season opens on Tuesday, November 5 with three non-conference games. League action begins on Friday, January 3.
