No hard feelings between Lin Dunn and Cheryl Reeve: “We’re great friends.”

After a week of back-and-forth exchanges stemming from an intense, physical game two punctuated by the jacket-tossing of Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve, the coaches of Indiana and Minnesota only had nice things to say about each other after game four. They fed fan hunger for controversy with comments they made to the media after game two. Dunn called Reeve’s jacket-tossing antics “disrespectful” and Reeve retorted that she did not “give a hoot” about Dunn’s opinion.

The Fever won the best-of-five series 3-1 Sunday night with an 87-78 victory

Reeve not only praised Dunn but Fever front office management and players:

Congratulations to the Indiana organization. If there are some people that you can be happy for, they reside here with the Indiana organization, starting with Kelly Krauskopf, who has built this thing. Give her so much credit; she’s so easy to be happy for.

And contrary to popular belief, I’m a huge fan of Lin Dunn’s, and we are great friends. We did have some fun in this series, but really, really happy for Lin. She deserved it. And then obviously you’ve got some quality people on the Indiana roster, starting with Tamika Catchings. There’s not anybody that cannot be happy for Tamika Catchings to finally get a championship.

Dunn’s comments:

First let me say what a tremendous team Minnesota has. I’m so impressed with the talent, the leadership, and Cheryl has done a tremendous job. She’s a great coach. Don’t believe half of what you read in the media; we’re best friends.
