It is all about Tina Thompson and the Lynx in the Western Conference locker room

Side by side they sit, Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore, Rebekkah Brunson, and Lindsay Whalen, the four Minnesota Lynx players getting ready for the WNBA all-star game.

Whalen laughed, “they haven’t made me carry their warm ups or anything” as the one non-starter.

Augustus was thrilled to have her teammates there, but was just as excited when I mentioned that in addition to three UConn Huskies and Tennessee Lady Vols, there were three LSU Tigers as well.

“All the rest don’t matter, we’ve got three Tigers,” Augustus smiled. “It’s something we’ve never had in LSU history, it’s great to be a part of that. I’m very happy for Sylvia Fowles and Ally Hightower, two young players that have done a lot for LSU, and here they are WNBA All-Stars.”

Danielle Robinson said she only showed off her halfcourt expertise at select times, after making three yesterday, but was excited to play in this game for the first time.

“I’m very happy to be here,” commented Tulsa Shock representative Glory Johnson, another first-timer. Seated on an end with Parker, Griner, and Taurasi nearby, Johnson was almost overlooked by the media.

“I’m tired but I finally get to play in the game,” she laughed, “It’s going to be great playing alongside these legends and are also excited to be here.”

Parker and Taurasi commented that playing together is just like being back in Russia or with USA Basketball, but the dynamic is still fun, plus it is a chance to play with players like Johnson for the first time.

The diva, the legend Tina Thompson, was center court in the locker room, and talked about it still being great to be a part of things.

“They are so young!” she exclaimed about her teammates, “but I can’t wait to play with some of them for the first time. It is always great fun to be a part of this.”
