Atlanta Dream sign guard Chelsea Hopkins to 7-day contract, waive guard Darxia Morris

The Atlanta Dream signed guard Chelsea Hopkins to a seven-day contract Monday. The team also waived guard Darxia Morris.

Hopkins, who was with the New York Liberty earlier this season, is a second-year guard out of San Diego State. She appeared in four games with the San Antonio Stars as a rookie in 2013, averaging 1.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, and 2.5 apg. She will wear No. 5 with the Atlanta Dream.

Morris, was added to the team on June 26. Orignally, she joined the Dream on a training camp contract in February 2017 but was the final cut on the day prior to the regular season. She appeared in five games this season and averaged 1.0 ppg.

The Dream will host the San Antonio Stars Tuesday afternoon in their annual Kids Day game beginning at 11:30 a.m. at McCamish Pavilion.
