The two teams split their series last season. Oklahoma State beat Baylor 78-65 in Stillwater in the Big 12 opener for both teams on January 9, 2010. Former Cowgirls standout Andrea Riley scorched Baylor with 43 points. The Lady Bears came back later in the season on February 20 with an 80-69 victory in Waco led by Kimetria “Nae Nae” Hayden’s 27 points. Riley and Hayden played with each other at Lincoln High School in Dallas.

Oklahoma is without the high-scoring antics of Riley this season. The guard was selected as the No. 8 pick in last season’s WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. She was the first player in Cowgirls history to be selected in the draft.

This season, Oklahoma State is led by 6-2 sophomore forward Toni Young who is averaging 14.7 points and 8.4 rebounds a game. Tiffany Bias, a 5-6 freshman guard, and 6-6 freshman center Vicky McIntyre each score 9.5 a contest.

Baylor is led by sophomore center Brittney Griner’s Big 12-leading 22.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per matchup. Freshman guard Odyssey Sims follows with 13.3 points a contest. Senior guard Melissa Jones averages 9.6 points a game. Jones is the team’s second-leading rebounder with 6.8 an outing.

Earlier this season sophomore post Brittney Griner became the program’s all-time shot blocker. She has 303 career blocks, ranking No. 2 on the Big 12’s all-time list, passing Texas Tech’s Cisti Greenwalt’s 300. She also scored her 1,000th point in the team’s last outing, a win over Texas.
