Mac Court merchandise – to wear or not to wear?

The yellow T-shirt was the one given free at the Oregon game Jan. 8 – the last in McArthur Court at UO. The green shirt was bought for me and has a picture of the old arena on it with the caption, “what a ball.”

OK, I’d like some input.

My people in Eugene got me some Mac Court merchandise, commemorating the closing last month of McArthur Court after 90 years. There is one T-shirt that they gave out to fans as they entered, that says “Women’s UO Basketball, 1974-2011.” As if that wasn’t cool enough, they also bought me a green shirt with a picture of Mac on it that says “what a ball.” Also included in my package was a plastic cup noting all the significant dates in Mac Court history over the years.

Needless to say, the cup is on top of the bookcase with the Pat Summitt book, the personal Pat Summitt card to me, and (what’s left of) my bobbleheads (since Lauren Jackson committed suicide last month by falling off and breaking her head open). I’m never drinking out of that cup. But I don’t know what to do about the T-shirts.

On the one hand, I’d like to wear them. I love basketball history, and my obsession with basketball began at that arena 32 years ago. I’m proud to be a Mac Court product, as Oregon fans are some of the most passionate in the world.

The other hand says that the shirts are one-of-a-kind – especially the yellow one. So I should hang them or keep them in a case.

What would you do if you were me???? Wear or preserve??
