Elena Delle Donne to attend Lauren Hill’s final game

Published on October 29, 2014

Chicago Sky guard/forward Elena Delle Donne will attend Lauren Hill’s final game on Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Cintas Center at Xavier University. Hill, a freshman at Mount St. Joseph (NCAA Division III), is battling terminal brain cancer and has only months to live. In the face of insurmountable odds, her wish is simply to play one last game for her Mount St. Joseph team in Cincinnati.

The NCAA granted an exemption to play the game earlier than originally scheduled to accommodate her wish. She will play her final basketball game in front of a sold-out crowd against Hiram College. Inspired by the freshman’s courage and love for the game, Delle Donne is dedicating her 2015 WNBA opener to Hill and plans to show her support by attending the game in Cincinnati on Sunday.
