Phoenix Mercury sign center Isabelle Harrison

The Phoenix Mercury signed Isabelle Harrison, a 6-foot-3 center out of the University of Tennessee. Harrison, the Mercury’s first-round selection (12th overall) in the 2015 WNBA draft, missed last season for rehabilitation after suffering a torn ACL during her senior year at Tennessee.

Harrison was a three-year starter for the Lady Volunteers, posting career averages of 9.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game over her four-year career at Tennessee. Prior to sustaining her knee injury, she recorded 14 double-figure scoring performances and averaged 8.6 rebounds per contest during her senior season, leading to All-SEC First Team and AP Honorable Mention All-American honors.

In what will be considered her rookie season, Harrison joins a Phoenix team seeking its fourth WNBA title in 2016. With all five starters back from the Mercury’s 2014 Championship team, Harrison will battle for minutes once training camp begins on April 24.
