New York Liberty veteran forward Swin Cash to retire at end of 2016 WNBA season

New York Liberty forward Swin Cash announced Tuesday morning via an article on The Players’ Tribune her decision to retire at the conclusion of the 2016 WNBA season. Cash, a 15-year veteran of the league,  has won three WNBA Championships (2003, 2006, 2010), two Olympic gold medals (2004, 2012) and two NCAA Championships (2000, 2002).

The University of Connecticut graduate will end her career ranked in the top 15 in WNBA history in scoring, rebounding, assists, and games played.

The Players’ Tribune also published a tribute to Cash with contributions from the Seattle Storm’s Sue Bird, the Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings, her Liberty teammate Tanisha Wright and Liberty head coach Bill Laimbeer.
