San Antonio Stars sign guard Sequoia Holmes for the remainder of the season

The San Antonio Stars signed guard Sequoia Holmes for the remainder of the season. Holmes (G, 5-10, UNLV) signed a training camp contract with the Stars on April 6 and appeared in 10 games before being waived on June 28. She averaged 2.9 points and 1.5 rebounds in 13.9 minutes.

The Stars are last in the league standings at 1-16. The franchise also traded veteran forward Monique Currie to the Phoenix Mercury on June 28 in exchange for guard Shay Murphy, forward Sophie Brunner and a third round pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft. Brunner was waived by the team on July 6.
