Dynamic duo of Kelsey Plum and Chelsea Gray Win 2023 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge

On Friday, the dynamic duo of Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum from the Las Vegas Aces emerged victorious in the 2023 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge at Michelob Ultra Arena. They triumphed over teams comprising pairs from Atlanta, Dallas, and New York.

During the initial round, the Aces completed the timed challenge in an impressive 45.9 seconds, achieving the lowest time among all teams. New York’s Sabrina Ionescu and Courtney Vandersloot came in second with 47.8 seconds, followed by Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale and Satou Sabally with 52.6 seconds, and Atlanta’s Allisha Gray and Cheyenne Parker with 58.7 seconds.

Advancing to the finals, Las Vegas faced off against the Liberty. New York completed the challenge in 58 seconds, while the Aces showcased their exceptional skills with a record-breaking time of 45.0 seconds, the fastest of the entire event.

The finals witnessed a remarkable performance by New York’s Sabrina Ionescu, who outshined Sami Whitcomb and Arike Ogunbowale with an extraordinary score of 37 out of 40 points. Ionescu’s incredible display included making 23 of 25 shots, including a remarkable streak of 20 consecutive successful shots, setting a new record for the highest score achieved in this event by any NBA or WNBA player.
