Maya Moore, Baylor make for a big evening

Maya Moore became the Big East’s all-time scoring leader tonight, as UConn routed Oklahoma 86-45. Moore put up 27 points to pass Angel McCoughtry’s two-year-old record of 2,779 points.

TV viewers were largely annoyed at ESPN for splitting the screen between game coverage and a camera pointed solely at Moore. Though there was general agreement that Moore is an outstanding player, comments on social networking media were that the split screen was distracting.

Across the country, Baylor was sleepwalking through their game against Texas A&M – and yes, that included star center Brittney Griner, who had only three points in the first half. But the second period belonged to the Bears and Griner, both of whom woke up to take the win, 67-58. Griner finished with 26. And she’s currently trending on twitter! Love it.
