2012 NCAA Championship: Baylor vs. UConn, Brice Cherry previews the matchup

Baylor, the only undefeated team in the nation, faces Notre Dame Tuesday in the final of the NCAA tournament. The Lady Bears seek to become the first NCAA team to reach 40-0 while Notre Dame looks to complete unfinished business after losing in the Final Four last year in the championship game.

The two teams met earlier this season in Waco on November 20 for the Preseason WNIT championship game. Led by 32 points and 14 rebounds from Brittney Griner, Baylor won 94-81. Odyssey Sims added 25 points, six assists and six steals. Notre Dame’s Natalie Novosel led her team with 28 points while Skylar Diggins scored 27 and Kayla McBride added 11 points.

Brice Cherry, Baylor beat sports writer for the Waco Tribune-Herald gives his take on Baylor’s performance during the Final Four and previews the championship game.
