Just five years after moving from Detroit, the Tulsa Shock may be relocating again according to rumors that began circulating this past week.

Shock season-ticket holders have responded to the rumors, first reported by Tulsa World, by launching a “Save Our Shock” campaign. Their efforts to keep the team in Tulsa are being publicized by the media relations firm, sixPR.

An excerpt from the release about the campaign sent to Hoopfeed:

“Rumors began circulating last week the leadership of the Tulsa Shock is considering relocating the team. According to the Tulsa World blog, none of the owners of the team will comment on the rumor.

The Tulsa Shock has been in Tulsa for five years and as the first professional team for the Tulsa area, loyal fans have been with them since the beginning.  The team is now having its best season yet, and had over 6,000 in attendance at its last home game.”

“Save Our Shock” activities include:

  • A Facebook page
  • A social media campaign on Twitter with the hashtag #SOSTULSA
  • A watch party where supporters of the team will give away yellow t-shirts with the slogan “SOS – Save Our Shock” printed on them.

Tulsa Shock management has not made any public comment about the possible move.

Watch party details:
WHEN: Wednesday, July 15, 2015
TIME: Seating begins at 5:15 p.m.CT  – Game begins at 6 p.m. CT
