Our guest is former WNBA player and North Carolina State Athletic Hall of Fame member Chasity Melvin. After a prolific career as a pro, Melvin entered the sports media world, undergoing broadcaster training at Syracuse University, and is now working as an intern with the National Basketball Retired Players Association.

As a player at NC State, Melvin led her team to its first-ever Final Four appearance under celebrated coach Kay Yow. She still holds several program records at NC State including the mark for most points scored as a freshman.

She entered the WNBA in 1999 as a first-round draft pick selected by the now-defunct Cleveland Rockers. She also played for the Washington Mystics and Chicago Sky. She was an WNBA All-Star in 2001.

During the podcast she discusses her career, the current state of the WNBA, the business acumen of LeBron James, and gives some excellent insight on how players can prepare for life after basketball.

You can keep up with Melvin via her website, chas44.com, and her Twitter account @chasitymelvin. Enjoy the podcast!
