Russia wins women’s 2017 FIBA 3×3 World Cup

Russia beat Hungary 19-12 to win the women’s 2017 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Nantes, France. Overall, Russia finished the tournament undefeated. Anna Leshkovtseva and Anastasia Logunova finished with a team-high six points in the final. Tatiana Petrushina added four and Aleksandra Stolyar netted three points in a dominating win against Hungary.

Ukraine won bronze-medal game with a 15-13 victory over the Netherlands.

Leshkovtseva was named tournament MVP and was joined by Hungary’s Bettina Bozoki and the Netherlands’ Karin Kuijt. Claudia Brunet of Andorra won the tournament’s skills contest.

Earlier this month, 3×3 was added to Olympic program starting with the Tokyo Games in 2020.
